About & Credits
CINECLUB is free to use.
CINECLUB is a film club app for friends. It removes the friction of running a club, making it easier for a group to agree what to watch and gather everyone's honest opinion of it.
A private group adds films to a shared list, and members take turns picking a film with a film-strip reel or wheel. That display choice is personal. Everyone watches by an agreed deadline, then submits a rating and review. Reviews stay sealed while the round is open and reveal together when it closes. A round closes at its deadline, or earlier when everyone has watched and rated or passed, unless the club has chosen to keep it open until the deadline.
Anyone can start a club using just a name. Joining an existing club needs its invite code and a member's approval. You can save your account for access across devices. Clubs can filter their picks by streaming availability, viewing history, mood, genre, director or cast, and keep track of completed films with stats and achievements. The separate Ideas board shares approved suggestions across clubs.
It's built and run by Lewis Fowler. Questions, feedback or bug reports are welcome at hello@thecineclub.co.uk.
Is CINECLUB a film club app?
Yes. CINECLUB organises a private film club's shared film list, picks, deadlines, ratings and reviews. Friends can watch together in person or separately in different places. It does not stream films.
Can I use it just to pick a movie?
The free random movie picker chooses from films you already want to watch. Search for films, add your own titles, or bring your watchlist from Letterboxd or IMDb. Choose which films to include and pick with a wheel or film strip, without an account or club. For a regular group, start a film club to keep your shared list and history together.
Does it cost anything?
CINECLUB is free to use in a web browser. You can join or create a club as a guest using a name. Adding a sign-in lets you keep access across devices. Guest access remains tied to its browser.
